Bar Harbor, Maine is a great family-friendly, gluten-free destination. We spent four days there last summer.

Hotel: We stayed at the Bar Harbor Inn (it's really a hotel), which serves a wonderful (included in cost of the room) breakfast in a casual dining room with a porch and outdoor tables directly overlooking the water. It's a magnificent view and the morning breakfasts are what I remember most about his charming hotel.
